Ekklesia

Ekklesia
Ekklesia is a Greek word meaning "assembly" or "gathering." In the New Testament it is a word often translated as "church". At First Presbyterian Church of Lake Wales, Ekklesia is the name of our Wednesday night family gatherings which emphasize fellowship, fun, food and learning for the whole family.

Dinner for all ages is at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. A hot meal, salad bar, and pizza are always on the menu. Pricing is as follows: Children 10 and under - $1, Hot Meal - $2, Salad Bar - $2, Pizza - $2. After the meal Kidz, Who-U, and adults go their separate ways for class until 7:30 pm. While the food, fun, and fellowship are great, the chief reason we gather each and every Wednesday is to learn more of Christ and to grow in our relationship with him. Each quarter (8 weeks) three to four different elective classes are offered for adults and high school teens. To see a course description of this quarter's current classes click here.

Kidz' Ekklesia
Ekklesia is our Wednesday night gathering for the whole church family. Wednesday evening starts with dinner at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. A tastefully prepared healthy meal will be available for only $1.00, salad bar for $2.00, and yes, pizza is available for just $1.00. Once served, kidz join their parents to eat, listen to announcements and sing along on just a few songs.

Kidz' Ekklesia classes begin after the mealtime. The current Kidz' curriculum is Group's Faith Weaver Friends program. Classes are offered for children Pre-K thru 2nd grade and 3rd thru 5th grade. As a special treat, we offer 'The Store'. The children learn to be respectful, obedient and prompt while earning 'money' to spend in our store. The program ends at 7:30 and as a courtesy to our teachers we ask that parents not to delay on their way to pick-up their children.
